Winter in Walla Walla!

barrels, beers and the blue mountains

December to February

Have fun and eat well!

A quieter and slower pace greet those who visit Walla Walla during the winter, but the season offers plenty to do to keep visitors busy (and fed)! The first weekend of December, holiday spirit abounds with area wineries hosting Holiday Barrel events throughout the Valley and downtown Walla Walla kicking off the season with the annual holiday parade of lights.

For those interested in outdoor recreation, Washington state’s second highest base elevation ski hill is about an hour away, so skiers and showboarders can enjoy short lines and deep powder at Bluewood…and in February, they can also enjoy the best post-apres ski beer experience at Walla Walla BrewFest (Saturday, February 17, 2024) – a day-long celebration of local breweries in the area.

For those more interested in indoor entertainment, the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival offers a special concert in December as well as their Winter Music Festival in January (in 2024, running January 11-14).

But everyone can enjoy all the specials available during February. Known as Walla Walla Restaurant Month (February 1-29, 2024), visitors can enjoy special prix fixe menu offerings from local restaurants and lodging deals.

Three Cheers for BrewFest!

February 17, 2024

BrewFest has established itself as a crowd-pleaser to beer lovers from near and far – bringing in folks from all over the Northwest Region (and lots of beer-loving locals). A delightful departure from your traditional beer festival, BrewFest places breweries in downtown Walla Walla retailers, so patrons get to sip their IPAs, lagers, and the like while shopping at some of Walla Walla’s favorite local shops.

BrewFest will return to Downtown Walla Walla February 17, 2024.
