Marcy’s Bar & Lounge Levels Up with New Ownership and a Killer Menu

Nestled in the heart of downtown Walla Walla, Marcy’s Bar & Lounge has long been a favorite gathering place for locals – and the new proprietors are raising the bar. Chef-owner Nate Snider and business partner David Ponti are serving an eclectic menu that’s constantly evolving and focuses on fresh, local ingredients. Heaping salads, handmade pastas, and mouthwatering flatbreads are the stars of the lineup here; and the beverage menu is equally impressive.

Right: Old Fashioned + Aviation cocktails

The establishment’s well-stocked bar and spacious but cozy ambiance make it the ideal spot for many occasions – from after-work drinks to a laid-back date night with killer food and drinks (that won’t break the bank). And whether you’re craving a local beer or a classic top-shelf cocktail, the skilled bartenders at Marcy’s have you covered. In addition to the welcoming interior, Marcy’s also boasts one of the very best patios in town. Sip and savor delightful dishes and drinks at the bar, in a comfy booth, or underneath the trees!

Marcy’s is almost an entirely scratch kitchen, meaning that they’re making all the components of the dishes they’re serving by hand. “We are pretty much making everything that comes out of our kitchen, or we’re sourcing it from someone local,” says partner David Ponti.

Left: Focaccia with Spaghetti & Meatballs | Right: Flatbreads

They also source as many ingredients from the Walla Walla Valley as possible. “The bounty here is pretty incredible. You can just drive out to places and pick up fresh produce. We get a lot of our stuff from A.R. Teal’s Produce,” says Chef Nate, “because it’s local and I know the quality of what they’re selling is fantastic.”

Partners Nate and David are both Walla Walla natives and cooked side by side for many years at The Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center early in their careers. Nate has returned to Walla Walla after serving as the Executive Chef at the renowned Hemingway-inspired restaurant, Bottle & Bull, in Kirkland, for seven years. Many will remember David who led the kitchen at local favorite Public House 124 for many years.

Right: Citrus Fizz: Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grenadine, Egg White, and Soda

For those looking for non-alcoholic alternatives, Marcy’s has you covered with a range of mocktail options, including the Citrus Fizz featuring a refreshing blend of orange, lemon, lime, grenadine, egg white, and soda. The bar program here is as creative with non-alcoholic choices as it is with cocktails!

White Truffle, Butternut Squash Tortellini with Brown Butter Fried Sage and Blue Cheese Foam

The White Truffle Butternut Squash Tortellini with Brown Butter Fried Sage and Blue Cheese Foam is the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The hand-folded pasta are pockets of perfection!

Left: Spaghetti & Meatballs | Right: Chicken ala King

The Figgy Piggy: Prosciutto + Balsamic Figs + Caramelized Onions + Parmesan Cheese + Smoky Pork BBQ Sauce

The fantastic combination of salty prosciutto and the sweet balsamic figs on this flatbread is a match made in heaven.

Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite on the patio or a leisurely evening at the bar, Marcy’s offers a warm welcome and an exceptional dining and drinking experience. Stop by soon for a snack on the patio or a drink at the bar. Cheers!
