The James McCool house is within walking distance to downtown where you can enjoy wineries, world-class restaurants, the farmer’s market, and Whitman College. The main street is just 0.7 miles away! Our ideal location makes for a quick drive to the south side wineries and the airport-tasting rooms and breweries.

Originally constructed in 1895 by James McCool, son of a Walla Walla founding father, the home has served as the residence of some of the area’s most prominent figures over the past 100 years. The large stately rooms, with soaring ceilings and wood accents, welcome you to a warm and inviting environment. We have completely restored the home with all the modern conveniences and comforts while preserving the incredible historical details.

The eat-in kitchen is well stocked with all the requisite tools you’ll need to prepare gourmet meals. The kitchen opens into the formal dining room where you can enjoy meals with your family and friends at the huge farmhouse table. Open the original cedar pocket doors and connect the dining room to the relaxing family room.

Outside, the private landscaped backyard is the perfect setting for a relaxed barbecue with friends and family. Enjoy a glass of wine on the wraparound porch, and the second-floor master bedroom balcony is the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee.

The home is ideal for wine country getaways, family reunions, holiday gatherings, corporate retreats, golfing, or simply enjoying the beautiful town of Walla Walla.
