April 2015
Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival

34 Total Events from June 4 to June 27, 2015

The Walla Walla Summer Chamber Music Festival (WWCMF) emphasizes the process of making music over the product of musical performance. Audiences are participants rather than witnesses.  34 total events include free children's concerts, open rehearsals and a host of ticketed performances set in select wineries, restaurants, galleries, museums and concert halls throughout the Walla Walla Valley.

The musical centerpiece of the WWCMF, the Festival Series (4 events), takes place at the Gesa Power House Theatre, where the buildings proportions and acoustics are ideal for the intimate medium of chamber music.
The Tasting Music Series and Portrait of an Artist Series (8 events) take place in select wineries throughout the Walla Walla Valley. These events represent a shorter format compared to the traditional concert  experience, and encourage lively social interactions between performers and guests. The Tasting Music Series performances (4 events) focus on a single masterpiece from the chamber music repertoire, while the Portrait of an Artist Series performances (4 events) focus on a single performing artist from the Festival's roster. All events are one hour in length.

Don't wait too long to purchase tickets as many of the venues are small and intimate and sell out quickly.

The Gentlemen of the Road Stopover Tour is coming!

August 14 & 15, 2015

Mumford and Sons, an internationally popular and Grammy award winning British folk rock band, has selected Walla Walla, Washington as one of their 2015 Gentlemen of the Road (GOTR) Stopovers in the United States.

About this year's upcoming Stopover tour, Mumford & Sons says, "The Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers are all about live music. We get to put them on in towns not normally frequented by touring bands in buses or splitter vans. We deliberately look for towns that have something unique, or some vibe of which they are proud, explore them and enjoy what they have to offer."

The four outdoor Stopovers will take place in carefully-selected and unique locations across America including Salida, Colorado; Waverly, Iowa; Seaside Heights, New Jersey; and Walla Walla, Washington.

Walla Walla was attractive to the band and concert producers due to its vibrant, picturesque and historic downtown; the scenic Walla Walla Valley; the proximity to park space and camping; the warm and comfortable summer weather; and performing venue options.

The Walla Walla GOTR Stopover will begin with a performance on Friday evening, August 14th featuring the Foo Fighters. A daylong festival of music will continue on Saturday, August 15 with the sounds of The Flaming Lips and more. Mumford & Sons will perform on Saturday evening.

Tickets to the two-day Stopovers are $199, with no additional service fees or hidden charges. Tickets for all Stopovers are available at
