(WALLA WALLA, Wash.)—One of the West’s Best Food Towns is about to taste even better. Starting Monday, April 4, Walla Walla Food Truck Night – a monthly co-mingling of homegrown food and drink set amid a relaxed yet delicious wine country backdrop – returns for another year.

Held the first Monday of each month from April through October in Walla Walla’s airport district, Walla Walla Food Truck Night features 18 food vendors including mobile versions of some of Walla Walla’s top culinary destinations such as Andrae’s Kitchen and Olive Marketplace & Café, along with locally crafted wine, beer and spirits.

“Despite launching only last year, Walla Walla Food Truck Night quickly gained momentum among locals and visitors alike, who showed up by the thousands to be part of this mobile, grassroots celebration of Walla Walla’s culinary community,” said Ron Peck, executive director for Visit Walla Walla.

Menus featuring pizzas, barbecued meats, tacos, burgers and sandwiches with locally sourced ingredients, including Walla Walla’s famous sweet onions, will be available for pairing with wines from J&J Vintners, Walla Faces Winery and Palencia Winery, as well as beer from Burwood Brewing Company and spirits  from Shot in the Dark Distillery.

Walla Walla Food Truck Night is held from 5 to 9 p.m. on April 4, May 2, June 6, July 4, Aug. 1, Sept. 5 and Oct. 3 on Piper Avenue on the grounds of the Walla Walla Airport District’s incubator complex. Walla Walla’s culinary scene continues to gain national recognition for its quality and diversity of dining options. A 2015 finalist for Sunset’s Best Food Town in the West award, Walla Walla has twice been named a finalist for “America’s Best Small Town for Food” by Rand McNally. In 2012, Walla Walla was selected among the country’s top eight “Best Small Towns for Food” by culinary website TheDailyMeal.com.
