As if there weren’t already enough reasons to visit Walla Walla at any time of year, food and wine lovers have additional motivation to visit this February during the valley’s annual February is for Foodies (#F4F2017) month long celebration. Now in its fifth year, February is for Foodies features cooking demonstrations led by Walla Walla’s finest chefs, prix-fixe menus at top local restaurants, food, wine, and chocolate pairings, special lodging discounts, and more.

Cooking Demonstrations

Mexican Afternoon w/ Chef Andrae Bopp – We welcome you to join Chef Andrae at the Courtyard Marriott on Feb. 25 @ 1 p.m., for an afternoon of amazing local culinary talent and cuisine, $50/person. To register please call (509) 525-8799.

Appetizers w/ Goose Ridge Winery – Come enjoy some wine and learn how to make fun and easy appetizers, to get ready for your Valentine’s Day. Our in house chef, Jen,  has put together 3 beautiful appetizers that are simple and pair wonderfully our wine. $25/person on Feb. 8th, 6-8 p.m.

Wine Pairing & Cooking Demo – Join the Marc’s in-house Sommelier Dan McCaffrey for a wine pairing demonstration followed by a cooking demonstration from Executive Chef Grant Hinderliter at the Marcus Whitman Hotel. Art of Chocolate at Brights Candies – Learn the art of chocolate from the folks who have been creating fine chocolates and confections in Walla Walla since 1934. Bright’s Candy, which has become a local institution by delighting generations of chocolate lovers, will host a special chocolate class on Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. There may be no sweeter way to celebrate February is for Foodies. $25/person. To register for this event please call (509) 525-8799.


Maple Counter – The Maple Counter Cafe is offering a very special breakfast. Enjoy three white chocolate raspberry pancakes with your choice of either two pieces of thick-sliced bacon, two sausage links, or two veggie links. Also included is a bottomless cup of our signature Walla Walla Roastery coffee and a fresh-squeezed juice of your choice. We kindly decline any substitutions for this specialty breakfast. $12

Walla Walla Gourmet – For the entire month we will be offering a lunch special for 2! Join us for two bowls of our pho and an order of egg-rolls for only $30!

Olive Marketplace – Dinners Downtown series with Ardor Cellars. Come in from the cold and join us for this multi-course feast for the senses. $59/person on Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Ox + Cart Dinner Party – Join us as we celebrate our unique regional farmers and fermenters! For this meal we will be featuring Shot in the Dark Distillery. $65/person on Feb. 4. 

Ox + Cart Suds Supper Club – Featuring Water Buffalo Brewery, join the brewer themselves  as we explore their offering of regional craft brews, each course paired with a “sud” of its own. $55/person Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.

The Q Wood-Fired Grill @ DaMa Wines – Join us at DaMa Wines for a dinner and movie night you won’t soon forget with a screening of the Big Night and dinner prepared by the Q. The dinner, as a part of Walla Walla’s annual “February For Foodies” month, and in keeping with the film, The Q will serve up five classic Italian dishes “Family Style”. The Q Wood-Fired Grill @ Forgeron Cellars – Join us for an intimate dinner with Marie-Eve and her husband Gilles, at the winery. The Q will prepare a delectable spread of platters and small plates ranging from ceviche to grilled duck and porchetta. $75/person on Feb. 10 from 6-8 p.m.

Valentine’s Day Winemaker Dinner w/ Northstar – Bring your valentine to the winery for a 5-course dinner with Northstar Enologist, Karin Gasparotti in our very romantic Northstar cellar. A special menu, paired with our award-winning Northstar wines, has been prepared by Chef Chad Bostwick of the Walla Walla Wine Country Culinary Institute. New-to-Northstar musician Evan Egereer will provide live music during dinner. $100/person on Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m.

5th Annual Fat Tuesday @ AK’s – Join us in the gas station for one of our favorite food days of the year!! We will be serving up some Classic New Orleans grub to celebrate the last day of the Carnival season! Feb. 28


Browne Family Vineyards -Browne Family Vineyard and their neighbors, Frosted Cupcakes, are working together to create Frosted Frenzy, Feb. 11-12. For a $15 tasting fee, guests will enjoy three wines paired thoughtfully with three delicious mini cupcakes. Valentine’s Day gift baskets will also be available as a perfect purchase for your sweetheart on what is sure to be a fantastic event!

Goose Ridge Winery – Through out the month of February our chef will be creating a spiced cider tart paired with Goose Ridge Ciders, guests will be given their own copy of the recipe to take home and make for yourself, as well as a discount on any cider purchase.

Waterbrook – Blend & Grill Seminar with Sommelier Shawn Smith & Chef Skyeler Milgate. Saturday, Feb. 25, 11:30-2:30 p.m. Experience hands-on wine blending and open-fire grilling at Waterbrook! Learn how to blend single varietal Bordeaux wines with our in-house sommelier, Shawn, and take your bottle home to enjoy. Then, grill a steak al fresco on one of our outdoor fire pits with guidance from our chef, Skyeler, and eat your masterpiece with season sides prepared by the chef himself! $85/person. Around the World in 8 Glasses –  Through out the month of February Kontos Cellars is working with Walla Walla Food Tours and three of our neighboring wineries on a walking aperitivo tour. Tours are $39/person and take place every Friday & Saturday from 3-5 p.m. 

Saviah Cellars – Join us at Saviah Cellars February 10th-12th for our For the Love of the Rocks Event – a wine and chocolate experience that will indulge the senses. Enjoy a special flight featuring three terroir-driven wines from The Rocks District including The Funk Syrah, Hunt & Gather Red Wine, and Tempranillo. Reininger Winery – Join us as we celebrate February is for Foodies with a flatbread worthy of deep devotion: a mouth-watering pizza with 2013 REININGER Semillon-infused strawberries, fresh feta and basil, cracked black pepper and balsamic glaze.
