WALLA WALLA GOURMET GETAWAYS TO OFFER TASTEFUL WEEKENDS IN FEBRUARY
Create-your-own tourist getaway features gourmet cooking classes with local chefs
Tourism Walla Walla announces the “Walla Walla Gourmet Getaways” package, offering guests a unique opportunity to spend a weekend tasting their way through one of Washington State’s premier wine and food destinations. Presenting an experience of gourmet food, wine, and service, the “Walla Walla Gourmet Getaways” package features participating inns and restaurants, and includes a hands-on cooking class with local chefs.
Offered every weekend in February, the “Walla Walla Gourmet Getaways” package treats guests to a self-selected itinerary. The ideal package for couples or food and wine enthusiasts, guests can book a two-night stay at the lodge of their choice, enjoy dinner for two each evening, and take part in one of two featured cooking classes, where participants can eat what they make. Cooking classes will take place on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at a featured restaurant’s kitchen. Participants will receive hands-on chef instruction, two glasses of wine, and a Walla Walla Gourmet Getaway apron.

- Decadent Dessert with Valerie Mudry and Chicken Pie at Whoopemup Hollow Café
- Hearty Stews with Jamie Guerin at Whitehouse Crawford
Saturday, March 1st:
- Fabulous Flatbreads with Gregg Schnorr at Walla Walla Community College
- Pate al la Natural with Judith Henderson at Wildberries
During their stay, guests can take advantage of a wide variety of wine tours, creating a more in-depth experience of Walla Walla’s attractions, historic charm, and culture. In addition, guests can enjoy spa service options available at various locations in the area. Wine tours and spa services can be arranged through participating inns.
The “Walla Walla Gourmet Getaway” package is based on double occupancy, rates start at $125 and vary at each participating inn. The gourmet chef cooking classes are $50 per person / $90.00 per couple plus tax, for guests who would like to participate. In addition, guests who book the package will receive a welcome treat from their inn of choice upon check-in and a free goodie from participating restaurants.
